At UHS we are always trying to look and find out what is new out in the hockey world so we can pass on the great information to you, our fans.
Well with a little help from my friend and colleague, Kevin Neeld of HockeyStrengthandConditioning.com we have come across an interesting new but old technology that can be used to facilitate or monitor recovery.
‘Earthing’ or ‘grounding’ is one of those naturalistic concepts that most folks don’t realize that is already happening. You see the earth has an electrical charge that has restorative properties when we come in contact with it (Come on…remember grade 10 science class!) The earth gives off free electrons that we don’t realize are beneficial to all of us, especially one’s in recovery from an injury.
Kevin writes in his article and explains this in more detail but the core of it all is that electrons will help with the following:
Earthing-Some Benefits from it:
- Decreased inflammation
- Reduced chronic pain
- Improved sleep quality
- Increased energy
- Lower stress and improved calmness
- Normalized biological rhythm
- Relieves muscle tension and headaches
There is more benefits from Earthing so read the article by Kevin Neeld and find out the ‘How and the Why; Earthing can be the one of the best injury recovery methods out there for the major athlete or even the ‘weekend’ jock.
